PHILLIP Schofield’s paedo brother benefited from almost £9,000 in legal aid while ­dragging his victim through a harrowing court trial.

The sum was paid to Timothy Schofield’s legal team from the time of his arrest in December 2021, to his magistrates and crown court appearances.

But the running total of £8,752.44 is likely to rise further as the Legal Aid Commission said it is yet to receive all bills for the trial.

Civilian police worker Timothy, 54, of Bath, Somerset, was jailed for 12 years last month after being found guilty of 11 child sex offences.

Phil, 61, described the crimes as “despicable”.
