Mikey was at a large gathering, reported to be a 16th birthday party, in Bath, , on Saturday night when he was stabbed to death.

He had been on a day trip in the city and was eating at a Nando’s restaurant when one of his friends heard about the bash on social media and decided to go along “on a whim”.

Locals have said that the party was crashed by a group of 200 revellers after being advertised online and soon got out of hand.

Mikey’s ex-girlfriend Chyna-Lei Patterson, 18, yesterday visited the street where he died in the city’s suburb of Weston.

The healthcare student from Bristol, told The Sun: “He was such a lovely polite boy and was loved by loads of people.

“His memory will be cherished by everyone who came across him and I’m just devastated at his loss.

“He was a really talented musician and dreamed of making a career as a rapper.

“Everyone who knew him is devastated.”

Meanwhile, Mikey’s mum Hayley Ryall, who works for Slimming World in Bristol, posted a picture of her and her son on Facebook.

Relative Sophie Ryall replied: “So sorry for you all. Sending love and thoughts to you my darling and the family.”

A has been set up in Mikey’s memory.

On the page, the organiser wrote: “As you can imagine his mum and dad are distraught their son will forever be 16.

“Mikey was such a kind loving and thoughtful soul who cared so much about his friends and family.

“He was so funny and fearless.”

They added that the money would be used to cover funeral costs.

Donors took to the comments to add their own messages of mourning.

One wrote: “Sending my love and deepest condolences to Mikey’s family at this time.”

Another added: “My heart is torn in two watching you all go through this I love you so much.”

Hundreds of Mikey’s friends let off balloons in his memory and a mural depicting his name was painted on a wall.

One well-wisher left a touching card that read: “Our loved ones may leave the world but they never leave our hearts”.

Cops confirmed yesterday that they had been called to the scene of the stabbing at around 11pm on June 10.

They then arrested six boys and two girls, aged between 15 and 17, on a bus half an hour after Mikey was attacked.

The arrests of another three teenage boys were then confirmed the next day.

The group were arrested on suspicion of murder.

Avon and Somerset Police said on Monday that three boys – a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old from Wiltshire and a 15-year-old from Dorset – remain in police custody and continue to be questioned by detectives.

The eight teenagers arrested on a bus less than 30 minutes after the incident have been released and no further action will be taken against them.

A 35-year-old woman also suffered stab wounds but was later discharged from hospital.

A local, who did not wish to be named, said: “I could hear really loud music banging for hours, sounded like they had a DJ there.

“There were probably 200-odd kids at the house. They posted about the party on social media and that’s why so many people turned up.”

They described the stabbing as “shocking” and “sad”.

Detective Inspector Mark Newbury, of the Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “Mikey’s family have been informed of these developments and our thoughts continue to be with them as they come to terms with their loss.

“Specialist family liaison officers supported them through the formal identification process which is something no family should ever have to experience.

“The investigation into Mikey’s murder continues at pace with a team of officers and staff working tirelessly to piece together what happened.

“A cordon remains in place at the scene, and we continue to appeal for anyone who has images, footage or information which could help our inquiry to get in touch.”

Chief Inspector Ronald Lungu, of the Bath Neighbourhood Policing team, added: “This tragedy is one too many and it should not be allowed to happen anywhere.

“I hear the community’s concerns about this and other recent incidents and would like to reassure them we are doing everything we can to tackle knife crime in Bath, as well as in other towns and cities across our policing area.

“We’re working closely with our partners to educate and divert young people away from crime as we recognise many of them are vulnerable and need support.

“We also take a strong approach to enforcement and when necessary and appropriate, will robustly deal with offenders and bring them to justice.

“Anyone concerned about Mikey’s death or who has worries more generally about knife crime is encouraged to talk to officers.

“We will have a visible presence throughout the Weston area as our enquiries continue, while officers regularly patrol the city. All of my team will be happy to talk to anyone about their concerns and will do everything they can to reassure them.”

A forensic post-mortem is due to take place to determine the cause of death.
