A MAN has been charged with the double murder of a husband and wife at a house inside a cemetery in East Sussex.
Police discovered the bodies of a 33-year-old man and 30-year-old woman at the property in Lewes Road, Newhaven, at around 7pm on Friday.
Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Derek Martin, also known as Derek Glenn, 64, from Brighton, Sussex, has been charged with the pair's murder in Newhaven Cemetary.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Detective Chief Inspector Kimball Edey, of the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, said: "Our thoughts remain with the families of the two victims at this extremely difficult time.

"While our work to establish the exact circumstances of what happened are ongoing, we are not seeking anyone else in connection with the matter."
Cops said a post mortem is scheduled to take place next week but would release no further details on the double murder at this time.
