EasyJet lets plane crew include pronouns on name badges – with over 25 choices available
EASYJET is letting its plane crew include gender pronouns on name badges — with more than 25 choices available.
They will help passengers address staff as “he/him”, “she/her” or “they/them”.
Crew who identify as trans, non-binary or gender non-conforming can display the titles ze/zir/zirs, xe/xem/xyrs and ze/hir/hirs.
The options will also include translations into the likes of French, Danish or Italian for the carrier’s multi-national employees.
EasyJet will print the custom-made badges for any member of staff who asks for them. It said: “We want to ensure we provide an inclusive environment for everyone.”
But critics say it is woke tokenism.

Sir John Hayes, chair of the Tories’ Common Sense Group, said: “This is another example of out-of-touch, profit-greedy plutocrats expecting their hard-working staff to endure this kind of pointless posturing — and customers to take seriously an organisation that can’t grasp the English language.”
In 2019, easyJet advised staff against greeting passengers as “ladies and gentlemen” following a single Twitter complaint.
They were urged to say “welcome everyone”.
Last year, Virgin Atlantic scrapped the rules on male and female uniforms, gave the option of gender pronoun badges and changed its online booking system to allow gender-neutral titles.
