Horrified girlfriend begged Brit to get out of the sea moments before he was fatally hit by lightning off Rhodes beach
THE girlfriend of a British tourist who died after being struck by lightning in Greece begged him to get out of the water moments before.
Scott Seddon, 26, was paddleboarding sea in the Agia Agathi area of Rhodes when he was electrocuted on Monday.
His girlfriend started shouting "come out, come out" as other onlookers also urged him to get out of the sea as lightning started hitting the area, according to local Greek media.
But horrified beachgoers watched on as Mr Seddon, who worked in the building trade, was suddenly struck.
It is understood his girlfriend caught the terrifying moment on camera as she had been filming Mr Seddon in the water from the beach.
Her phone has now been handed over to Greek authorities, who are investigating, reports .

Shocked onlookers rushed to help pull Mr Seddon out of the water following the incident shortly after 1.30pm local time (11.30am BST).
Despite best attempts of emergency services, Mr Seddon died at the scene.
Brazilian football player Wander Machado, 47, was the one who rushed to the water to help the young Brit.
He told : "As soon as I got close to him, I saw that he was face down in the water and his face was bruised.

"I immediately knew that every second was crucial and started pulling him to the shore.
"I was worried that the same thing would happen to me as it was still raining but I didn't stop."
Wander, who performed first aid as soon as they got out of the water, added: "The man was still alive, I could hear his heart and he had a pulse.
"The EKAV rescuers arrived shortly afterwards and performed all the resuscitation procedures to keep him alive. Unfortunately, I found out a little later that he didn't make it."
Mr Seddon was taken to the Archangelos Health Center, where medics desperately tried to resuscitate him but to no avail.
His dad Steve and sister Layla have been left "heartbroken and distraught" by his death.
A family friend told the : "He used to live in Greece with the family and spoke Greek.
"He loved it there but now they go and visit their holiday home there and live back here now."
An investigation by the Central Port Authority of Rhodes has been launched and an autopsy is set to be carried out at Rhodes general hospital.
A spokeswoman told The Sun: "He has been brought to the morgue.

"We cannot say when the procedure will be over but an autopsy will take place to learn more about the cause of death.”
An FCDO spokesman said: "We are supporting the family of a British man who has died in Rhodes and are in contact with local authorities."
