Shocking moment man leaps over counter to grab package after blazing ‘wrong ID’ row with jobsworth postie
Raging customer blows his top when worker refuses to hand over package
THIS is the moment a frustrated Post Office customer took matters into his own hands following a row over a parcel and leaped over the counter.
He was attempting to collect a package after it had not been delivered because he was no one was at the address at the time.
He had then gone to the Post Office with the red card which had been posted through the door to pick up his post.
But the member of staff repeatedly refuses to hand over the parcel because the driving licence he has brought has a different address on it to the one on the package.
Despite his persistent protests the Post Office worker will not hand over the package even though the three other forms of acceptable ID listed on the red card, passport, debit or credit card do not display any address.
Eventually the frustrated customer leaps over the counter to retrieve his parcel himself.
In an increasingly heated exchange the customer tells the staff member: "If I brought my debit card there would be no address on the debit card.
"If I brought my passport there would be no address on the passport.
"I've brought my licence, it's got the wrong address on it because I've recently moved house.
"It does not say to bring anything with my current address on it...So I want my parcel."
As the man attempting to collect the package gets increasingly more annoyed the staff member says: "I'm going to walk away now because you are getting very hostile."
The customer then responds: "Well would you not be getting hostile after queuing up in this mate?"
He then spins the camera round to show a long line people behind him.
After that the screen goes black before falling on the other side of the counter filming upwards to reveal the customer leaping over the counter to retrieve his package.
Comments left on the video, which was posted to Facebook and viewed over 123,000 times, overwhelmingly sided with the customer.
One commented: "The customer is right no address on debit card or photo ID his licence will clearly have his name on and picture doubling as photo ID some staff are so above themselves."
Another added: "Just showed my mum this vid and she's a Royal Mail worker and he is wrong as long as it's proof of your name like the customer mentioned he can have his parcel the bloke behind the glass is just being a stubborn c***."
But some did support the Post Office worker with one comment reading: " Bit of an arse this bloke in my opinion. This guy would be more pissed off if some stranger got his parcel. Don't understand why people have to film and mock others who are just following the rules they have been given."
