Mum laid dead in bedroom for months in house full of tarantulas, rats, a blind cat and three-legged sheep dog
Sharon Greenop’s body is said to have been left in the bedroom while her daughter and sister carried on living as normal
THE body of a dead mum lay decomposing in her bed for MONTHS in a house full of tarantulas, rats, a blind cat and a three-legged sheep dog, it has been claimed.
Sharon Greenop’s corpse is said to have been left in the bedroom while her daughter and sister carried on living as normal in the terraced family home in Troon, Ayrshire.
The 46-year-old's body was reportedly only discovered after neighbours raised the alarm because of the putrid stench coming from inside.
As well as Sharon’s decaying body they were said to have found a host of animals including a pair of tarantulas, rats, a rabbit, a blind cat and a three legged sheepdog called Katie.
It’s believed Sharon’s daughter 19-year-old Shayla – also known as Mallak – and younger sister Lynnette lived under the same roof of the terraced home.
The house in Troon’s Muirhead remained cordoned off today.
When quizzed about the horror Lynnette, 38, told the Ayrshire Post: “I’m so sorry but there will be no information given out whatsoever from our family just now until we know ourselves what’s going on.”
She was then asked if her sister’s body had been there for two months and she replied: “No comment.”
And when questioned if the corpse had been there along with herself and her niece she again replied: “No comment.”

When it was suggested there were a lot of candles in the house to try and mask the smell, she said: “No comment.”
Lynnette also would not say if she had been charged with anything, it was reported.
She had earlier put a message on Facebook thanking people who had been supportive.
She said: “This last 8 to 9 days since sudden death of my sister and mother to Mallak … it has been a horrendous 8 to 9 days and is still on going.”
Shayla has recently started using the name Mallak.
On October 21, Lynnette posted on Facebook: “Oh so quiet in this wee hoosey the night ….. tooooooo bloody quiet…. Not complaining though cos it will no last.”
The last time she mentioned her sister Sharon was five months ago when she had got back to the house after being in hospital.
On June 26, she wrote: “Well that’s Sharon back fae the hospital and all we know is she had 2 stitches in her arm and to call the D.NS or doc surgery a week come Monday.
“Well am sorry folks but what am a supposed to do for her she can use a phone.. well she does keep saying she is capable o doing things for herself… if that’s the case why the fecking did she land on bathroom floor and end up in hospital… but then again Sharon at her best BLAMES everybody but herself.”
Neighbours in the quiet, short cul-de-sac which borders a field are said to be shocked.
One said: “The back door open constantly for obvious reasons.
“We knew they were odd but not this odd.”
