Man who died in horror jet ski accident named locally as shocked pals pay tributes to ‘one of a kind’ lad
A MAN who died in a horror jet ski accident has been named locally as tributes poured in.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of the incident at Carlingford Marina in Louth on Tuesday evening.
A couple were rescued from the water by the Coast Guard after getting into difficulty and taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
The man, named Gary Clarke according to the , sadly passed away while the woman remained in a serious condition.
Initial reports, according to , suggested that the jet ski may have overturned in the water.
Tributes poured in for Gary today, as heartbroken pals were left in shock.
One person said: "Sympathies to his daughter and all his family. RIP Gary. One of a kind".
One mourner said: "Can't believe I am reading this, had some great memories and the best of laughs in Gary's company. Top bloke. Condolences to his entire family and friends,. RIP Gary. Gone too soon."
Another said: "Sad news reading this. Gary always had a smile and time for anyone. Rest in peace. Sincere condolences to the entire family circle, thinking of you all and sending love."
Someone else said: "Taken by utter shock when I heard this. Thoughts and prayers to all the family and friends. Rip Gary, you were one of a kind".

McAnulty's Funeral Directors took to social media to announce Gary's funeral details.
Survived by his daughter Mary-Kate and mum Marian, Gary will be laid to rest this weekend.
McAnulty's Funeral Directors said: "Clarke (Warrenpoint) May 23 2023, as a result of an accident, Gary, loving father of Mary-Kate, dearly loved son of Marian and the late Patsy, much loved brother of Billy, Edel and Jane and cherished uncle and nephew.
"May he rest in peace.
"Gary’s remains will repose at his home until removal on Saturday at 12.15pm arriving at St. Peters Church, Warrenpoint for 1pm Requiem Mass followed by interment in Massforth Cemetery, Kilkeel.
"House strictly private please.
"Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by his family, family circle and many friends.
"Donations in lieu of flowers please to R.N.L.I. (The Royal National Lifeboat Institution) c/o the family or McAnulty Funeral Directors".

Multiple agencies responded to the jet ski incident, including a unit from Kilkeel RNLI.
A spokesperson for the RNLI told how the alarm was raised by a member of the public who saw a lone jet ski on Carlingford Lough.
