Russia deploys war toys to ballistic nuclear missile silos to protect from enemy special forces
RUSSIA has unveiled its robotic system that protects nuclear missile silos even after an enemy nuclear weapon has exploded nearby.
Footage has emerged of a drill which puts state-of-the-art robot fighting technology through its paces.
As reported, Russian leader Vladimir Putin has ordered his military to modernise and create “intelligent weapons” for a high tech war.
And this latest video made by the Russian Ministry of Defence shows the military is doing just that.
Special crack troops -tasked with protecting the intercontinental missile launch sites - are seen operating a remote controlled gun and a tank.
The exercise was carried out to prepare against enemy special forces disabling the nuclear missile silos.
The long range machine gun is filmed popping up from a concrete shaft and firing on a target.
A robot caterpillar war machine is also controlled remotely.
It is designed to scout about and immediately eliminate intruders.
A Russian Ministry of Defence spokesman said: “The complex has the ability to direct weapons, accompany and hit targets in automatic and semi-automatic modes as it is equipped with electro-optical and radar reconnaissance.”
The video has emerged after Russia sparked security fears after it emerged President Putin has MOVED his missiles – so they’re now stored closer to western Europe.
America warned the provocative act – seen as a direct challenge to NATO's missile defence system – was “destabilising to European security”.
A Third World War is set to be ignited in Latvia if the United States comes to the rescue of the Baltic country under attack from an expansionist Russia, a top military analyst has claimed.
The respected expert, Professor Paul D Miller, from the National Defence University in Washington DC, predicted the invasion of Crimea in 2014.
And now the professor believes Latvia or possibly neighbouring Estonia are next on Russia’s hit-list.
But since the Baltic nations are in NATO, all members are compelled to come to its rescue under Article Five of an alliance treaty – sparking World War 3.
