Boy, 6, suffers ‘life-changing’ injuries after being mauled by dog as cops seize American Staffordshire terrier
A CHILD has suffered "potentially life-changing" injuries after being mauled by an American Staffordshire terrier in South Yorkshire.
Emergency services charged to Highfields, Doncaster, on May 11 following reports a child had been attacked by a dog.
A six-year-old boy was rushed to hospital from the scene on South Street.
Police say the injuries he received were potentially "life-changing".
A man in his 40s was also taken to hospital with non-serious injuries following the 7.15pm horror.
Officers at the scene seized an American Staffy terrier dog from a property on the street, it has since been put down.
No-one has been arrested in connection with the incident but South Yorkshire Police say they are continuing their investigation.
