BRITS are set to soak up the 19C sunshine this weekend - and it'll likely be hotter than Bilbao.

The Met Office is predicting sunny days for much of the UK with London looking to be one of the warmest spots.

And while those in the capital after likely to enjoy a lovely 19C, other parts of the country are set to hit 18C.

This will see the UK clock in higher temperatures than the Bilbao, a northern port city of Spain, which Met Office forecasts will hit about 17C.

People all over the country will get to enjoy the sunshine and warmer weather, with the late-teen temperatures scattered all across the UK.

London is set to hit the high at around 4pm on Saturday, while Cardiff, Birmingham, Brighton and other parts of the country are set to sit just one degree lower.

Meanwhile, those areas and the likes of Southampton, Exeter and Bristol will get to enjoy the 19C heat on Sunday.

It comes after forecasters predicted Britain will be seeing “above average temperatures” this weekend.

However, it warned that first Brits may have to endure rain and showers.

Met Office's long-range forecast for Sunday May 21 - Tuesday May 30 says it will be “fine for many with warm sunshine."

It continues: “Through next week and the beginning of the following week, the overall settled theme will continue with predominantly fine and dry weather for most. 

And it says: “Temperatures for most are likely to be above average during the day, although most likely closer to average in the far southeast.”

Over the weekend forecasters say the UK will see “a mixture of sunshine and scattered showers, some heavy, on Friday”. 

It adds: “Further sunny spells Saturday and Sunday, but the risk of some rain across northwest Scotland. Often warm.”
