Alfie, 53, has given The Sun exclusive early access to the doc, titled Gypsy Billionaire, which is set to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival this Friday.

The businessman, who is now has a net worth of around £741 million, recalled: "We went to Cambridge fair one year and we pulled up next to a man named Nelson Clark.

"Nelson Clark was the first gypsy I'd ever met who had a Rolls-Royce... this was unbelievable.

"That started me on my course. I wanted a Rolls-Royce. I was 13 at the time."

He explained that Nelson was a car dealer and that the flashy motor inspired Alfie to go into the same line of work.

His first solo business venture was buying and selling an Escort van, raking in a £150 profit.

Alfie added: "I'd buy Land Rovers in from Yorkshire, send them to Wales, go down to Wales and see them go through the auction and just hope they'd sell.

"I did well because I worked hard.

"I then bought my first van site and I was making £150,000 to £250,000 a year - I was flying. It was a lot of money, especially for someone who was 19."

The exciting new doc gives a unique insight into Alfie's humble beginnings, including being born in a caravan at the side of the road, and how he turned it all around to become one of the wealthiest men in the country.

He also revealed how he nearly lost everything and was sleeping in his van before taking drastic action to get back on track.

Meanwhile, Alfie's mum Jane, explained how she knew her son would be a millionaire from day one.

And Jane isn't the only family member featured, with Alfie's daughter Elizabeth, 27, opening up about following in her dad's footsteps after dropping out of school aged 11.

If all goes to plan, Alfie is set to be crowned the world's first gypsy billionaire next year.
