Horrific video shot on dashcam in Simferopol, Ukraine, shows boy's frantic mother screaming and running to his aid as he lands in the road
SHOCKING footage has emerged showing the horrific moment a child was sent flying by a speeding car as he crossed the road.
The little boy was walking across a zebra crossing with his mum in Simferopol, Ukraine, when the accident happened.
In the footage, the pair can be seen beginning to cross the street from left to right as the traffic stops.
Halfway across, they pass another mum with her child walking in the other direction.
But while the mother in black makes it across the road safely, the other pair are not so lucky.
After making in nearly all the way across, the boy runs ahead of his mum as they reach the last of four lanes of traffic.
But as he does, a speeding dark-coloured car slams into the little lad – hurling him more than 30ft down the road.
The boy is thrown through the air like a rag doll as his mother looks on in disbelief and horror, completely powerless to protect her child.
One of his little shoes is taken clean off his foot by the impact – and can be seen flying back over the other three lanes of traffic and further, for a distance of what must be nearly 100ft.
The boy’s mum’s terrified screams can be heard as she frantically rushes to his aid.
The driver of the car which hit him also comes running from his vehicle to offer his help.
According to reports, the motorist ended up taking both mother and son to hospital in his car after the woman fainted at the scene.
The accident was captured on the dashcam of another vehicle and the footage quickly went viral after it was uploaded to video-sharing websites.
Police are reportedly looking into the accident but have declined to comment pending the outcome of their investigations.
There is no information on the boy's condition.
