Primary school placed in lockdown after ‘killer clown’ armed with ‘massive knife’ was spotted
Locals reported seeing a masked man shouting and chasing mums and kids
A PRIMARY SCHOOL has been put into lockdown after a man wearing a clown mask and armed with a kitchen knife was spotted.
Police were called after the clown was spotted on Northbrook Road near the Somerville Primary School in Wallasey.
Locals reportedly saw the masked man chasing mothers and their children.
A 31-year-old has since been detained by police,

One witness said: "People be aware there is a man in a t-shirt light jeans with black belt with a massive knife and wearing a clown mask looking for north feild road.
"Got in my face and was waving the knife in me face."
The man was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and affray.
He will be questioned by detectives.
Merseyside Police released a statement, saying: "Calls were received of a man in possession of what are described as kitchen knives in Northbrook Road.
"Armed police attended and searched the area, before locating a man in an address on Northbrook Road."
The sighting comes after a terrifying clown hoax swept across America, with the creepy trend moving to the UK.
Concerns that paedophiles could disguise themselves as clowns were also raised.
