Tesla shows off self-driving car ‘with eyes’ in amazing video

The footage demonstrates how the car's motion sensors ensure it avoids collisions with pedestrians crossing the road and other vehicles

THIS is the incredible moment a self-driving car effortlessly takes to the road, using its "eyes" to avoid collisions with pedestrians and other vehicles while getting from A to B.

The vehicle, designed by Tesla, is showing off its autopilot technology by taking to the road.

And while there is someone behind the wheel, the video points out: "The person in the driving seat is only there for legal reasons.

"He is not doing anything. The car is driving itself."

The car is seen cruising down regular roads, stopping at traffic lights and slowing down when pedestrians are crossing the road.

The navigation system interprets obstacles such as other cars, pedestrians or cyclists differently, having a colour-coded system to determine if they are an "object" or an "in-path object".

The video was first shared by Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, on Twitter.
