Evans admitted murdering Karen and was ordered to spend at least 17 years behind bars in 2005.

When that expired last year he applied for parole but that was turned down by officials. He’s now served 18 years.

The bid has only just been made public.

She is convinced that once he gets released it will be only a matter of time before he strikes again.

Allison, from Tayport, Fife, said: “He should never, ever get out.

“The world is a much safer place when he’s on the inside because he will definitely do it again. He won’t be able to help himself.

“I can’t bear the thought of another family having to go through this nightmare. I’ll write as many letters and speak out as much as I have to if it means he never gets released.”

Between the ages of ten and 16 twisted Evans was accused of 14 crimes against kids and attempted to abduct a youngster, aged eight, from school.

He ended up getting stuck in a flat in Tayport where none of the locals knew about his past.

Trusting Karen meet him at college in Cupar, where she was studying childcare, and visited his rundown flat with pals because she felt sorry for him.

But in January 2005 she never came home and cops eventually found her charred body in a dustbin

Evans, then 17, looked through the family’s window and claimed he’d not seen Karen for two days.

He was eventually caged for a minimum of 17 years and managed to get transferred to a lock-up in Wales to be closer to family.

Last week it emerged that he’d applied for parole and to be moved to an open prison.

Shocked Allison said: “Nothing will ever bring Karen back. But I would feel like I was letting her down if I just stood by and watched as he got out. I can’t let it happen.”

Allison and husband Frank’s lives were ripped apart by the loss of their only child.

They’ve watched as Karen’s friends have moved on and got married and had kids.

But she’s forever frozen in time in the pictures they have hanging in their living room.

Allison said: “Karen was our life and he took her away from us. He took everything away from us. He took away celebrating her 18th, her 21st. The possibility of getting engaged, getting married. My husband will never be able to walk her up the aisle.

“I’ll never get the chance to be a granny. You think it gets easier but I’m not sure it does. You just get used to it.”

Allison confessed that she has considered trying to visit Evans behind bars to finally force him to open up about his horrific crime.

She added: “There’s a possibility I would do it. I’ve even dreamed about it.

“I’d like to ask him why? Why my Karen? He’s never answered that.”
Evans’ first applications to get out have been rejected but Allison knows there will be more.

Allison added: “I don’t care what happens to him, as long as he is never released — after everything he’s done, he doesn’t deserve it.”
