GIGI Hadid has been slammed by social media users after doing a 'racist' impression of Melania Trump during Sunday's American Music Awards.
The 21-year-old model mocked the First Lady-to-be by putting on a fake Eastern European accent and an exaggerated pout.
Referencing accusations from earlier this year, which claimed Melania Trump plagiarised a speech by Michelle Obama, Gigi joked: "I love my husband, President Barack Obama. And our children Sasha and Malia."
She had earlier quipped: "I gotta get her face right."
But the skit, which Hadid performed as part of her debut hosting gig alongside comedian and impressionst Jay Pharoah, was heavily criticised by viewers - who blasted it as 'racist' and suggested she should 'stick to modelling'.
One appalled Twitter user wrote: "Melania Trump is going to the First Lady of the USA. This was the highest form of disrespect possible."
Meanwhile, another added: "Tomorrow morning @realDonaldTrump will tweet demanding Gigi Hadid to apologise for the Melania Trump impression."
Pharoah later courted controversy as he threw a thinly-veiled accusation of racism at the President-elect.
The former Saturday Night Live cast member joked: "I love Bruno Mars. I don’t know what colour he is, so I can’t deport him.
“He looks like Mowgli from ‘The Jungle Book,’ he does. I love ‘Uptown Funk,’ it was all totally about me.
"It was originally called ‘Uptown Trump.’ I’m going to funk this country up bigly.”
