POLICE have smashed a gang of car thieves suspected of being behind the disappearance of a string of luxury cars including a Lamborghini Gallardo which turned up in an Essex car showroom.

The German owner of the £300,000 sports car reported it missing over the summer when it was stolen from a car park in Majorca.
