Disgusted tenants living in home owned by former QPR and Nottingham Forest star slam filthy conditions, dead rat and mould

A FORMER Premiership footballer has been accused of being a lousy landlord after tenants in a house he owns complained of filthy conditions - including a dead RAT in the cellar.
Ex-QPR striker Dexter Blackstock has said he is not to blame after students living in the Nottingham house reported widespread mould, broken smoke alarms and piles of abandoned rubbish.
But Student Living hit back and claimed working with Blackstock had been a "nightmare" - while the furious tenants said they are still experiencing problems.
Student Frankie Linsley, who lives in the house in Addison Street, said: "The house was in a really bad state of disrepair, there was a massive tip of rubbish out the back, a bin with maggots in it, there was a dead rat in the basement, numerous other things.
"There's just no matter of urgency with anything."
Student Living said working with former Southampton striker Blackstock has been "a nightmare" and said it had gone "above and beyond" for the tenants, including buying missing furniture for the rooms.
But a spokesman for the footballer told Notts TV: "He [Blackstock] has never refused to carry out any repair work at all the flats.
"He feels that the blame lies squarely with Student Living's poor management, and complete lack of communication with the tenants has caused this situation to escalate, leaving the tenants unhappy.
"Mr Blackstock would like to assure his tenants that any outstanding maintenance issues will be taken care of as a matter of urgency."
