Meet Dr Rajiv Parti who claims he saw HELL and even smelt the ‘burning flesh’ of doomed souls while undergoing surgery himself
The anaesthetist said he had always discounted patient's out of body experiences until he went under the knife himself
A DOCTOR has recounted how he came to the "lip of hell", even smelling burning flesh and hearing screams of anguish during an out-of-body experience while on the operating table.
The high-flying doc had dedicated his life to medicine but said he had always dismissed his patient's claims of seeing an afterlife or having an out of body experience.
But when the successful anaesthetist suffered complications after surgery for prostate cancer and was rushed in for emergency surgery, it all changed.
Recounting seeing a fog after being knocked unconscious, the man said he at first saw the scene in the operating theatre unfold before he travelled to New Delhi, India, to see his sister and mother at their home.
But the scenes started to change, with Dr Parti .
He said: "I heard screams of pain and anguish. I was drawn in, as if on a moving pavement, to the edge of a flaming canyon. Smoke filled my nostrils, and with it the sickening odour of burning flesh. I knew then that I was on the lip of hell."

Despite being a Hindu, he also claimed to have seen archangels Michael and Raphael.
Eventually waking in the recovery room, he said his doctors, like he had once done, dismissed his claims.
But Dr Parti, who had spent his "near-perfect" life working towards "bigger everything", including a mansion and supercars, said he was left terrified by the experience.
The experience in 2008, when Dr Parti was 51, changed his life completely.
The US anaesthetist resigned from his job at Bakersfield Heart Hospital in California after his experience.
Selling his expensive cars and mansion, the changed man also encouraged his eldest son, who had been studying medicine, to pursue his dreams with the young man changing into a career in computer programming.
