Inside UK’s ‘WORST’ chicken shop with ‘putrid’ cold food & terrible service… as customers say it should be SHUT DOWN

A CHICKEN shop has been slammed for its "putrid" food and "terrible" customer service - and there are calls for it to be shut down.

Dixy Chicken in Essex has been slammed by customers for its "beyond disgusting" food which one customer claims left them with "excruciating stomach pains".

The Dagenham-based takeaway offers a selection of pizzas, burgers, wraps and chicken, but its customers are less than impressed.

Raging customers have taken to TripAdvisor to vent their disgust at the food and service they have received from the fast-food restaurant with one demanding it should be 'shut down'.

The disgruntled diners have rated the chicken shop a lowly score of 1.5 out of 5 stars with a TripAdvisor traveller rating of "Terrible."

One reviewer said they were "a little skeptical about the food because it was chewy" but that they thought nothing of it until they got home.

They added that as soon as they got home they were "bedbound" with "excruciating stomach pains" and went on to say that the shop "should get shut down asap".

Another complained that their food was cold and said: "It's the last time I shall ever order a thing from here."

One user remarked on the "bad customer service" and said: "Could any other place be as disgusting and rude as this place?"

Another upset diner added that the chicken they ordered "smelt old" and that the chips had an "odd texture" and said they were "suffering more than ever" after eating a few bites of the food.

Dixy Chicken was visited by the Food Standards Agency in October 2022 and received a food hygiene rating of 3.

Inspectors marked the business on three areas, hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and management of food safety.

The report said the takeaway was "generally satisfactory" in all three areas of the inspection.

Despite the majority of reviews being negative, there were two customers who were happy with the food and service received at Dixys.

One reviewer commented: "We just love this place, the chicken is really tasty, the chips as well."

And another said that it was "the best in the area".

The Sun Online contacted Dixy Chicken who refused to comment on the reviewers' claims.
