The 45-year-old now scoops a massive £600,000 ($735,000) a year through selling new and second-hand clothing items, home goods and children's toys all through social media.
Following her immense success, Monette is now encouraging others to follow a similar route.
Her first sale was a dress which she sold for almost £30 ($36) just 11 hours after she posted the item.
She began listing more and more pieces and the money continued to trickle in.
But in 2017 her husband had to have open heart surgery and was unable to work - meaning the financial responsibilities fell solely on her shoulders.
This is when Monette took her efforts to a whole new level and began using several other reselling platforms.
She revealed that the £80 ($100) to £160 ($200) she was earning per week turned into around £800 ($1,000) which resulted in her making almost £40,000 ($52,000) in her first year.
But in 2021 she expanded into selling on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook livestreams which is when her business really began to flourish.
She is also admitted that social media is now where the bulk of her income comes from.
To keep up with the high demand, she sifted through yard sales and clearance bins to bag herself bargains that she could resell for a profit.
And as her following grew, popular brands such as Torrid and Target began offering her contracts that paid her to wear and promote their clothing on social media.
In 2021 alone, she raked in a whopping £590,000 ($735,000) from her line of work.
Monette said that most of her stock now comes from bulk orders bought at a discounted price which enables her to make 100 listings per day.
She even revealed she has to stay up until 3am just to make sure her orders are shipped out to her eager buyers.
Monette's husband's health has since improved but rather than returning to his former job, he now helps his wife keep up with her booming business.
The pair now own a six-bedroom home that they've paid off in full and have sent two of their children to college with no student loans.
Speaking about her business venture, she told Insider: "When I talk about everything that we've gone through, I'm still shocked about it - from where we came from to now.
"A lot of people see where I'm at right now. And they're like, "Oh, I want to do that right now."
"Yeah, it's going to happen eventually, but it's not just going to happen overnight.
"So I would say don't give up and just keep listing, keep sharing your closet, be consistent," she added.
"We love what we do and the only way to continue to grow is working."
