The judo enthusiast had left her phone at home while heading for an early morning run before she clocked on for her afternoon shift as a carer.

But Chloe never turned up at the nursing home - and had not made contact with anyone since her dawn run.

Her mysterious disappearance sparked a huge hunt across the town, with officials mobilising the military to aid the search.

But the 20-year-old was eventually found alive and well at midday on Saturday at a campsite in Marne with a friend.

However, mystery still shrouds the reason for her vanishing act, which police currently suspect was voluntary.

Jean-Baptiste Bladier, prosecutor of the Republic of Meaux, said she was found "in the company of a friend."

Chloe was last seen on a CCTV camera near her home at around 6am, according to .

She lives a stone's throw away from the Corbie municipal park, which sprawls across dozens of hectares in the north of the town.

Cops initially concentrated on scouring this area, even if there was "not necessarily a trace of Chloe in the park", police said.

Squadron leader Séverine Hammel, commander of the Meaux gendarmerie company, said on Friday: "We immediately took this disappearance, which was described as worrying, seriously.

"We have deployed very significant resources on the ground. In this kind of situation, the first hours are decisive.

"Before widening the search area, it is necessary to carry out a search as close as possible to the last place where the missing person was seen."

"No track is excluded or privileged,” Colonel Michael Fumery, head of the gendarmerie group in the Seine-et-Marne department, added.

Chloe's devastated mother frantically wrote a Facebook post on Friday evening calling on locals to help find her daughter.

Reports claim her family were initially unconcerned by her lack of contact, as the 20-year-old typically hit the gym after her run.

It read: "My daughter Chloé has been missing since this morning during her daily jog.

"She had nothing on her, just her running gear. Usually, she has her phone but she lent it to a family member.

"If you saw her, saw her or have any clues… She was supposed to go on vacation with us, she had important appointments today.

"No reason to leave. Thank you for your support."

Over a hundred soldiers were mobilised to join the hunt alongside police dogs, drones and choppers.

Chloe is around 5ft'1, has a nose piercing, short brown hair with blonde highlights and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a black sleeveless jacket, a royal blue sweatshirt with a judo-related inscription and white trainers.

Her concerned judo instructor Patrick Caron said members of the Japanese martial art club she attends had joined the search for their pal.

He told radio station Europe1: "Everyone is worried, everyone is asking themselves lots of questions."

Patrick described Chloe as "very calm, very reserved and hardworking in lessons", adding that she was very "taken" with her job.
