Gang boss who flooded UK with drugs for Albanian mafia fighting to stay so his family can enjoy better healthcare

A GANG boss who flooded the UK with drugs for the Albanian mafia is fighting to stay — so his family can enjoy better healthcare.

Toni Boboshi controlled a £6million network of home-grown cannabis.

Nearly 30 people were employed and Boboshi, 49, used Albanians to launder the proceeds through their UK bank accounts.

He was sentenced to six years in 2018 but released from jail after 30 months.

Home Secretary Suella Braverman wants to deport him but he has launched a legal battle to remain.

He claims it would be “disruptive” for his autistic son, a British national. The Probation Service reckons Boboshi is considered a “low risk” of re-offending, an immigration tribunal in Manchester heard yesterday.

But Alain Tan, senior Home Office presenting officer, told the tribunal that the judge at an earlier hearing — which Boboshi is appealing — made the correct decision.

The appeal judge will deliver his ruling at a later date.

Boboshi’s empire stretched across the North West, Yorkshire and Wiltshire.

Manchester Police’s Det Insp Karen Ryan said at the time of his arrest: “The group used false names, false addresses and fraudulent documentation to avoid detection.
