Inside crimes of thug brothers who got first ever ASBOs at 10 & 13 as they’re jailed for hunting strangers with machete

TWO thug brothers who got their first ever ASBOs aged 10 and 13 have now been jailed for hunting strangers with a machete.

Tyler Williams, now 33, and Shamen Williams, 30, have been locked up for a total of 26 years after carrying out the attacks for "fun" and for "sport".

The duo, from Kent, have carried out crimes together for the last 20 years with cops first releasing mugshots of them in 2003.

And in March 2021, the Williams brothers spent one evening targeting strangers in the street.

Maidstone Crown Court heard how the pair approached a woman who was sat in her car in Gillingham, Kent, around 9.40pm on March 4.

Shamen attacked the woman, with no apparent motive, causing injuries to her face and head.

Tyler then damaged her vehicle before brandishing a machete at another man and chased him down the street.

Just over an hour later, Shamen attacked three more men.

One of his victims needed hospital treatment for face, shoulder and back injuries.

Tyler encouraged Shamen to carry out the second round of horror telling him "go on, do him", the court heard.

Their previous offending saw victims attacked by their Pitbull crossbreed dogs as well as a claw hammer.

However, their latest crimes were committed while on licence from prison sentences handed down in 2018.

Tyler refused to leave his cell at HMP Swaleside for sentencing while Shamen walked out of the prison link room at nearby HMP Elmley during his hearing.

Passing sentence on Tyler, Judge Robert Lazarus said he was close to a receiving a life sentence.

Judge Lazarus said: "He has demonstrated scant regard for the court and individuals in authority.

"He has repeatedly not cooperated with the court and frequently refused to attend, including today.

"There has been non-cooperation with probation and refused to attend two appointments for the purpose of a pre-sentence report, and that leads me to believe there is a poor prospect of rehabilitation.

"No motive for the violence has been identified.

"Although the sport-like bragging came from Shamen, I am left to conclude that Tyler too was engaged in violence for fun or sport."

He added: "He seriously needs to re-evaluate his attitude.

"I know he has the intelligence and ability to change, and I would warn him he is moving perilously close to a life sentence if he commits further offences of violence."

Tyler, from Maidstone, was convicted of two offences of affray, possessing a bladed article, criminal damage, wounding with intent, and possessing cocaine with intent to supply.

Shamen, from Rochester, Kent, was convicted of two offences of affray, two of possessing a bladed article, assault causing actual bodily harm, criminal damage, wounding with intent and attempted wounding with intent.

They were both given 13 years and must serve two-thirds of that before being considered for release.

Their younger brother Brandon, 24, was also jailed for 18 months back in December for his involvement in the night of horror.

He has since been released.

Detective Constable Nicola Emery said after the sentencing: "These dangerous criminals targeted victims at random using weapons to inflict serious injuries.

"Their actions were appalling and have had a lasting impact on those who were assaulted.

"I would like to commend the victims and witnesses who have assisted us throughout this investigation, ensuring that two violent offenders will now serve lengthy prison sentences."
