A PENSIONER aged 70 was being quizzed on suspicion of murdering his Filipina wife today after she was found stabbed to death at their home.

The dead woman's husband was later arrested on suspicion of murder.
Today a white forensics tent had been erected in the front garden as scene of crime officers searched the semi-detached house on a quiet residential street and in the Ketley Bank area of Telford, Shrops.
Neighbour Jessica Fitzimmonds said: "Its really sad. She had family in the Philippines but has always lived here as long as I can remember. She was such a lovely woman.
"We heard police banging on their door in the middle of the night, so God knows what went on. Next thing I know, there are cops and paramedics everywhere.
"He seemed quite a bit older than her but they seemed like a nice coupe.
"You would never expect this sort of thing.
"Everyone is just really shocked and saddened. We can't quite believe it."
Another resident added: "This is a pleasant and friendly area of the town so for something like this to happen on our doorstep is extremely disturbing.
"I've never known anything like it and I've lived here over 20 years. Everyone is very sad."
Detective Inspector Mark Bellamy of West Mercia Polic said: "We are in the very early stages of our enquiries and local residents may notice an increase in police presence as we conduct these.
"Anyone with any information should contact police on 101 quoting reference 799s of November 15, 2016."
