Breathtaking video captured on £2,300 telescope shows mysterious planet's dusty surface in great detail
BREATHTAKING footage of a high-res telescopic view of the moon has wowed thousands of viewers.
The video takes you on a journey across the dusty surface of the mysterious planet in unbelievable detail.
Filmed by astro-photographer Julian Wessel, the astonishing images were captured on a state-of-the-art Skywatcher 10'' Newtownian telescope.
The £2,300 scope and mount were used to zoom right down onto the moon's surface nearly 250,000 miles away.
The photographs themselves were then made by connecting the telescope to a top-of-the-range Canon 60D camera.
While the images have astounded over 30,000 viewers on YouTube, some harebrained commenters took the chance to pedal their conspiracy theories.
One wrote: "So where are those nonexistent flags?", while satellite deniers asked why no flying objects could be seen.
