Jeremy Paxman unleashes foul-mouthed rant, swears “b*****d”, “b*****ks” and flicks a V-sign during Sky News interview
The University Challenge host, who was being interviewed by Adam Boulton, also hit out at Andrew Marr
JEREMY Paxman used the words “b*****d”, “b*****ks” and flicked a V-sign during an expletive-ridden live TV appearance on Sky News.
The University Challenge host, who was being interviewed by Adam Boulton, also hit out at Andrew Marr, calling him “poor chap” and saying he was “not the fount of all wisdom”.
He was discussing his notorious interviewing technique on Boulton’s All Out Politics show yesterday morning, where, for once, the tough questions were aimed at him.
Boulton said: “You didn’t originate the phrase but you have long been associated with ‘why is this lying b*****d lying with me’ as what you have in your mind, is that what you have in your mind when you are interviewing politicians and others?”
Paxman, 66, responds by repeating the phrase from Louis Heron’s book – “Just ask yourself why is this lying b*****d lying to me. I think it is a pretty sound principle yes.”
Boulton, 57, later brought up Paxman’s rivalry with Marr, saying of he later: “He says Paxman is furious, disdainful and contemptuous with his guests.”
Paxman hit back: “Andrew Marr can say what he likes, poor chap. He also described me as genuinely angry and tortured.”
He added: “He is not the fount of all wisdom, any more than Piers Morgan.”
On his interviewing style, Paxman said: “I am disdainful of having b******* talked to me, yes of course.”
Speaking about Donald Trump’s US election win, Boulton said the business mogul’s victory reminded him of Brexit.
Paxman gave the two finger salute and said: “They are doing that aren’t they.”
