Roofer shows his love of Donald Trump by getting a giant tattoo of the new US President on his leg
Dave Singleton spent SEVEN hours under the needle for his elaborate tribute to America's next Commander In Chief
A BRITISH roofer has taken his love of Donald Trump to the extreme - by getting a giant portrait of the new US President tattooed on his leg.
Dave Singleton’s tribute to America’s next Commander In Chief, which is on his left calf, also features the slogan: ‘In Trump We Trust’.
The 38-year-old from Salisbury, Wiltshire volunteered for the inking after tattoo artist Craig Bartlett offered to do it free of charge
Dave said: "I don't agree with everything [Trump] says but I think he might be the man to turn things around for America.
"There are times when he goes too far and of course he splits opinion, but he says things I agree with too.
"I'm not a huge fan of Hillary Clinton and I think she's been part of the establishment for too long. “Trump coming from the outside might make a difference.”
Dave admits his controversial body art has not been without its critics.
He added: "It's divided opinion. Most of the negative comments I've had were from Americans. Some people even compared it to getting a Hitler tattoo, but as far as I know Trump's not a mass murderer for a start.
"Craig's artwork is so good I probably would have got it even if Trump didn't win.
"For me it's not so much about the politics as the art. I'm covered in tattoos anyway, so one more wasn't really a big deal.
"Great art is always controversial. Craig has spent seven hours creating a masterpiece.
"I've not seen a portrait of Trump as good as this. Most of them make a mockery of him.
“I think it looks outstanding though. Generally the comments on the art have been positive."
Craig, who has been a tattooist for six years, spent almost seven hours working on Dave's lower left leg at his Just Add Ink studio in Poole, Dorset on Sunday.
He produced a computer-generated stencil based on a photograph of Trump that the pair found online, before completing the tattoo in his trademark black and grey style.
Craig, 31, said: "Dave's a friend of a previous client of mine and he watched me do a tattoo on his mate a few months ago.
"Either way, if Trump had one or not, he's such a character - we knew we'd do something.
"I'm quite anti-Hillary so it was fine with me. Dave basically just said: 'Do what you want'.”
