‘Marvellous’ British tanks arrive in Ukraine ahead of possible spring counter-offensive against Putin
THE UK rose to the Challenge yesterday as we delivered on our promise to supply tanks to Ukraine.
A squadron of 14 Challenger 2 main battle tanks arrived there ahead of a possible spring counter-offensive against the Russian invaders.
Ukraine defence minister Oleksii Reznikov hailed them as “military works of art”.
He shared a video on social media showing himself taking one of the Challenger 2s for a spin before they head to the front line.
Paying tribute to UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace, he beamed: “Marvellous, Ben.
“It’s very good stuff.

“Thank you very much from Ukraine to the United Kingdom.”
The UK led the world after a direct appeal from Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky for greater firepower.
His country has also taken delivery of armoured vehicles from the US and Germany.
Russia has condemned Britain and said the tanks would “burn” on the battlefields of Ukraine.
