WHITEHALL are now working on 500 different Brexit plans as they struggle with the details of leaving with EU, it has emerged.
A leaked Cabinet Office memo also claimed as many as 30,000 more civil servants will need to be hired to conquer the huge task, .
As the true scale of the task of Britain’s EU departure is revealed, there were also warnings that mandarins may have to step in to stop it spiralling out of control.
Ministers may need another six more months to pin down their priorities because of the workload across every government department, the memo also reveals.
And it criticises Theresa May for hoarding too much power by “drawing in decisions and details to settle matters herself”.
