ERIC Trump is a fierce supporter of his father Donald and was a key part of his campaign team.

But since his maverick dad headed for Washington and the White House, Eric has remained in New York to lead the Trump Organization in his father’s absence. Here’s what we know about Eric and his family.

Who is Eric Trump?

Eric is Trump’s third and youngest child with first wife Ivana.

The 33-year-old was born in Manhattan and attended Trinity School.

His parents divorced in 1991, when he was just seven years old.

Eric broke family tradition when he attended Georgetown instead the University of Pennsylvania like his father, brother and sister.

He graduated with a degree in finance and management, with honours.

What does Eric Trump do for a living?

Eric joined the Trump Organization in 2006 – assuming responsibility for expanding his father’s company’s real estate portfolio.

He also established the Eric Trump Foundation in 2006 – an organisation whose purpose is to raise money for terminally ill children.

However, the foundation has been dogged by controversy after tax records showed significant amounts of funds raised went towards the costs of hosting fundraising events at Trump Organization golf venues.

Eric is now the executive vice president, development and acquisitions, of The Trump Organization, and directs all new project acquisition and development throughout the world, with his brother, Donald, Jr. and sister, Ivanka.

He was also a task adviser and boardroom judge on The Apprentice, which his dad used to host.

Eric has also overseen the expansion of the Trump Golf portfolio of properties – increasing the number from three to over 15 in ten years.

He is the owner of the Trump Winery, which is located in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Eric has racked up awards including the 2013 Rising Star of the Year award from Wine Enthusiast.

He is reportedly worth around £120 million but such is the complexity of the Trump family finances he could be worth much more.

Is Eric Trump married?

Eric became engaged to long-term girlfriend Lara Lea Yunaska in July 2013.

They married on November 8, 2014, at Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida.

Lara is a television producer for news program Inside Edition.

The pair welcomed their first child on September 12, 2017.

Is Eric Trump as controversial as his dad?

Eric came under fire after tweeting a picture of his ballot on social media – potentially breaking US election rules.

In the tweet, he wrote: “It is an incredible honour to vote for my father! He will do such a great job for the USA! #MakeAmericaGreatAgain”

He also made headlines after saying his dad will accept the result of the election in the event of a loss if he feels it was “legit and fair”.

Eric has been slammed in the past for posing with animals he has killed with brother Donald Jr on an organised safari in Zimbabwe.

In August, Eric was asked to comment on his dad’s controversial statement in which he said if his daughter Ivanka were ever subjected to sexual harassment in the workplace, he hoped she would find another company to work for or switch careers.

He said: “Ivanka is a strong, powerful woman, she wouldn’t allow herself to be objected to it”.

Eric was blasted by women’s groups who said the comment put the blame on the victim.
