Two thirds (66%) of men also said they have had a pint in the pub by themselves, compared to 29% of women.

Many Brits are making the most out of life even if they don't have a partner - based on these findings.

More than 20 per cent had partied at music gigs or in nightclubs by themselves.

A total of seven per cent had even visited theme parks on their lonesome.

Around 40 per cent had eaten in restaurants without company, and 28 per cent went on holiday without a travelling companion.

"For the most part, men are much more likely than women to have taken part in any of these activities by themselves," said YouGov.

"There is also an interesting distinction between middle and working class people.

"Middle class people are more likely to say that they have done these activities by themselves than working class people.

"It could be that, with less disposable income on hand, working class people are less prepared to even consider spending money on an activity they can’t share with friends or family."
