Tragedy as man is ‘murdered in horror hit-and-run’ while walking outside Costa – with suspect arrested
A MAN has allegedly been murdered in a horror hit-and-run while walking outside Costa.
Emergency services rushed to a Plymouth retail park after reports a car had smashed into a pedestrian.
Tragically, a man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the car that hit the man had fled, but was located a short time later.
The horror unfolded last night, with officers this morning confirming a man had died.
The cops this afternoon said a 36-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The man remained in custody overnight, while police seized the vehicle.
The cops originally described the man's death, near the Marsh Mills Retail Park on Leigham Manor Drive, as "suspicious".
However, Devon and Cornwall Police said this afternoon: “Following enquiries last night, one man remains in police custody and we are not seeking anyone else in connection to this matter.
“Cordons remain in place today whilst our enquiries are ongoing, and members of the public will see an increased police presence in the area today.
“I would ask that anyone who has any information, relevant dash cam or CCTV footage which may assist our investigation, to report it to us."
The Riverside Caravan Park manager, whose site sits on the same road as the retail park, this morning said she only found out something was happening last night after a friend asked if she was OK.
She said two police tents were set up on the road this morning, but the cops had given her little information.
The manager said: "I've got caravans wanting to leave and caravans wanting to arrive and no-one can move at the moment.
"The police have told me the road will be closed until at least the afternoon. That's all they've told me when I went to them.
"We're calling people to let them know they can't turn up at the moment and others can't leave so it's rather chaotic at the moment."
Police asked anyone with information which may assist our investigation is asked to report it to police online here quoting log 720 of 22 March.
