Brazen attack on US military Afghan HQ kills and maims US servicemen
A TALIBAN suicide bomber has killed four Americans inside the US military’s biggest base in Afghanistan.
US Defence Secretary Ash Carter said two members of the armed services and two contractors had died in the attack on Bagram airbase.
Sixteen US service members and one Polish soldier were also injured.
The blast is a humiliating security breach because the base is supposed to be impenetrable.
Bagram has been attacked before.
But this is the first time a bomb has exploded inside the base.
The Taliban said one of their fighters had carried out the attack,
The US-run facility is just north of the capital Kabul and is also NATO’s main military base.
