'HANG YOURSELF WITH YOUR HEADSCARF'

Muslim teacher told to kill herself with her hijab because she ‘isn’t allowed’ in Trump’s America

A MUSLIM teacher received a sickening note telling her to hang herself with her hijab because it's "not allowed in Trump's America".

Mariah Teli discovered the letter in a classroom at Dacula High School in Dacula, Georgia, on Friday.

The note read: "Mrs Teli, your head scarf isn't allowed anymore.

"Why don't you tie it around your neck and hang yourself with it."

The 24-year believes it was left there because of Trump's success in the US election, and is a sign of a surge in hate crimes it is feared will be triggered.

She wrote on Facebook: "I'm a high school teacher and sadly this anonymous note was put in my classroom today.

"As a Muslim, I wear a headscarf as a practice of my faith.

"I want to share this to raise awareness about the reality and climate of our community.

"Spreading hate isn't going to 'make America great again'."

She accompanied the post with the hashtags "Donald's America" and "Here to stay".

Mrs Teli was born and raised in California and works at Dacula High as a language and arts teacher.

The note was illustrated with hand-drawn American flags.

The local school district has said it is determined to find out who wrote it, reported.

Donald Trump's election success has rocked the world and sparked riot across the world.

Pictures and footage emerged of furious protesters burning flags, rioters setting fire to rubbish and angrily confronting Trump supporters after it emerged the controversial Republican president-elect will soon hold the most powerful position in the world.
