POP paedo Gary Glitter is likely to die in prison after being recalled for breaching his parole conditions, a former top cop predicted yesterday.

The ’70s glam rocker has been on suicide watch after being returned to jail — and moaned about The Sun’s key role in his recall.

Officers removed the 78-year-old from a bail hostel on Monday night after we revealed he was using a smartphone, discussing search engines and talking about the dark web.

A source said: “He was complaining about the ‘bloody paper’ and seemed to think he had done nothing wrong.”

Former head of Scotland Yard’s Paedophile Unit, Mike Hames, told Times Radio yesterday: “I have no doubt he’ll serve the next eight years of his sentence.

"He’ll probably die in prison. He is so dangerous, he’s so fixated on his offending behaviour that he’ll never stop.

“He’s arrogant, he’s opinionated. He’s somebody who is always going to be a danger to children, quite frankly.”

Glitter — real name Paul Gadd — was last jailed in 2015, for sexually abusing girls under 13.

He was sentenced to 16 years, but freed from HMP The Verne, Dorset, on February 3, having served half his prison term.
