Cops launch probe into ‘unexplained’ death of man, 91, after he died suddenly at hospital
COPS have launched a probe into the "unexplained" death of a man after he suddenly died at a hospital.
The 91-year-old was discovered in the early hours of Sunday morning at York Hospital, North Yorkshire.
An investigation has since been launched to establish the events leading up to the pensioner's death.
His family are currently receiving support from specialist officers and his death is being treated as unexplained.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said they were called to the hospital around 6am yesterday.
They said: "North Yorkshire Police were contacted by York Hospital at just after 6am on Sunday 12 March 2023 in relation to the sudden death of a 91-year-old man.

"The man’s family have been made aware and are receiving support from specially trained officers.
"Enquiries are taking place to establish the circumstances that led to his death which, at this stage, is currently being treated as unexplained."
