THIS is the shocking moment a man threw liquid over a car and set it alight before flooring its "owner" with a sucker punch to the face.

CCTV captured by a stunned homeowner in Leicester shows two men walking towards a car - which locals say one of them owns.

The other man is holding a jerry can and appears to throw liquid over the vehicle before setting it alight.

The man with the can then punches the alleged owner, knocking him to the floor, and quickly walks away, leaving the car engulfed in flames.

Locals said the incident came after two men got into a row in a nearby restaurant on March 8.

Police and firefighters were called to the scene.

No arrests have been made and police are appealing for information.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: "Police were called to Walton Street in Leicester shortly before 2pm on Wednesday (8 March) following a report that a car was alight.

"It was established that the fire had been started deliberately.

"While attending, officers identified and spoke to the car's owner, who was not inside the vehicle at the time. Enquiries are continuing.

"No arrests have been made and anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call 101, quoting incident 299 of 8 March."

It comes after The Sun revealed that yobs in east London torched vans and cars in an overnight rampage - with Royal Mail vans among the vehicles targeted.

Cops are now hunting the culprits after the attacks across Tower Hamlets, east London, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

A woman who claims she was attacked on a yacht by Conor McGregor has also had her car torched.

Samantha Murphy, 40, was at home in Dublin when her car was set on fire in an arson attack.

Several cars were left completely burnt out after an electrical fault sparked another blaze on a street in Peterborough.
