Probe into school sex education brought forward amid claims kids are exposed to ‘inappropriate’ lessons on choking

A PROBE into sex education in schools has been brought forward amid fury from Tory MPs over “inappropriate” lessons.

Rishi Sunak yesterday demanded the Education Secretary to speed up the review into how relationships are taught following the backlash.

The PM told MPs: “Our priority should always be the safety and wellbeing of children and schools should also make curriculum content and materials available to parents.”

He was challenged in the Commons by Tory backbencher Miriam Cates who raged that kids were exposed to “age inappropriate, extreme, sexualising and inaccurate” classes.

She blasted: “Graphic lessons on oral sex, how to choke your partner safely and 72 genders. This is what passes for relationships and sex education in British schools.

“This is not a victory for equality, it is a catastrophe for childhood."

A consultation will start as soon as possible although it is not known whether fresh guidance for heads will be published this year or next.

But teaching unions last night hit back and insisted most schools follow the current advice to the letter.

James Bowen, director of policy for school leaders' union NAHT, said: "It is hard to be anything other than deeply concerned by this announcement."
