SARAH Palin is sensationally being lined up by Donald Trump for an ultra right-wing cabinet, it has been revealed.

The former Alaska Governor and once-candidate for Vice President is among 41 names added to a list of potential member of Trump's team.

Among them is former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani and Ben Carson, who Trump defeated to secure the Republican nomination.

The revelations were made by today and cover 13 key government departments Trump will need to fill.

Palin was John McCain's running mate when he took on Barack Obama in 2008.

She actively campaigned for the businessman and was in New York to celebrate his victory on Tuesday night.

Speculation has grown that the self-declared "hockey mom" could be placed in charge of the US's resurgent energy industry.

Last September, she told CNN: "Energy is my baby.

"Oil and gas and minerals - those things that God has dumped on this part of the earth for mankind's use instead of us relying on unkind foreign nations for us to import their resources."

Giuliani - mayor the Big Apple during 9/11 - is another household name Republican to have campaigned for Trump.

He is tipped for the position of Attorney General having served as Ronald Reagan's Associated Attorney General between 1981 and 1983.

Former US Army General Mike Flynn is reportedly being considered for Secretary of Defence.
