THIS is the bizarre moment more than 50 riot cops stormed into a tiny kebab shop – crowding around the counter as if they were waiting to order.
The shocking scene unfolded in Holloway, North London, at around 5.45pm on Tuesday last week.
But these officers weren’t just looking for a quick doner and chips after work.
The small army of cops – kitted out as if they were going into battle – were searching Best Kebab House and the neighbouring Hornsey Supermarket for drugs and stolen goods.
Footage captured on CCTV cameras inside and outside the restaurant shows the endless stream of officers go charging into through the doors.
The man at the counter ordering and the two diners tucking into their food in the corner are left stunned as the riot cops come storming in, quickly filling the shop.
The gobsmacked owners put their hands up and can be seen being handcuffed as more officers stream past the counter and into the back.
Owner Cesur Demirkiran, 24, told the that he, his dad, his brother and fiancée were all made to sit on benches outside in cuffs for hours before being released.
He said: “I have never seen anything like it. I was thinking: ‘These are here to kill me.’
“They were saying ‘This is our day’ and put us outside to humiliate us in front of thousands of people on a busy junction.”
Cesur claimed some of the cops were even saying that they had never seen a raid like it in 15 years.
And the shop owner says the business has now seen a 45 per cent drop in income since the high profile raid.
He added: “This is a family run business – my dad has owned the property for 30 years.
“Now people won’t come in because they don’t know what happened.”
A police spokesperson said cops had warrants to search five neighbouring premises, claiming that the large number of officers involved was due to the perceived high risk of the operation.
Cash and jewellery were seized, but have since been returned.
Suspected drugs and a stolen motorbike were also confiscated, and three arrests were made on suspicion of handling stolen goods.
All those arrested have now been bailed as the investigation continues.
