HE CAME IN LIKE A WRECKING BALL

Devastated Miley Cyrus sobs over Donald Trump US election victory vowing she’s now going to be a ‘hopeful hippie’

The singer couldn't contain her tears as she told fans in a Facebook video of sadness over Hillary Clinton's White House loss, then grudgingly accepted billionaire as US President

MILEY Cyrus has joined an army of celebrities who were devastated at Donald Trump's US election victory taking to Facebook with a video of herself sobbing in distress.

The singer posted the clip on Wednesday, and struggled to keep it together as she spoke out to fans.

Speaking through her tears the star, 23, said: "I do want to say that I've been very vocal for my support for everyone besides Donald Trump.

"Heavily supported Bernie. Heavily supported Hillary. And I still think that in her lifetime she deserves to be the first female president."

Cyrus was a vocal supporter of the Democratic nominee, hence her upset over the result.

Her sobbing continued as she told fans: "That's what makes me so sad.

"I just wish that she had that opportunity, because she fought for so long and because I believe her when she says that she loves this country.

"This is all she's ever done. She's given her life to make it better."

However, despite clearly being very put out by the new President elect, she graciously said she would accept the turn of events: "But, like Donald Trump so ironically played after his speech, it said, 'You can't always get what you want.'

"And happy hippies, we adjust and we accept everyone for who they are. And so Donald Trump, I accept you.

"And this hurts to say, but I even accept you as the President of the United States, and that's fine, that's fine because I think now I want to be a hopeful hippie."

She summed up her message with a plea, which could have been a nod to the violence which was seen across the States in the wake of the election.

She asked her fans: "But please just treat people with love and treat people compassion and treat people with respect and I will do the same for you."

Then speaking directly to Trump she put herself forward as a voice to advise on anything the billionaire may have questions about.

A LGBTQ activist, she said: "If you want to open your mind and open your heart I'd love to give."

She finished the video saying: "Hillary for inspiring all of us."
