Travellers with £130k Audi & Mercs set up camp next to royals at Windsor Castle as Rishi Sunak arrives for meeting

TRAVELLERS have set up camp a stone's throw away from the King's private quarters at Windsor Castle.

It comes as Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and the European Commission President are set to meet in Windsor later today.

Photos show the make-shift camp set up in a tourist car park near the royal home.

The group, thought to be from Germany and France, have been flaunting their wealth with flash cars worth over £300,000 parked up at the site.

The fleet of supercars parked among more than 30 caravans and motorhomes includes an Audi RS-6.

The supercar sells for upward of £130,000.

Meanwhile a shiny silver BMW M5, worth £110,00, and a Mercedes convertible on the market for £75,000 - both with French number plates - were also spotted.

The group descended on the car park over the weekend, making use of the newly installed outdoor toilets.

Later today Windsor Castle will host a very important meeting.

Mr Sunak and EU chief Ursula von der Leyen will meet at lunchtime in No10 to iron out the final details of an agreement on the Northern Ireland Protocol.

Once a deal is done, Mr Sunak will update his Cabinet before the pair make a formal announcement at a press conference in Windsor.

The EU and Britain have been striving to secure a new arrangement before the 25th anniversary of the Belfast Good Friday Agreement in April to smooth trade problems over the border and get the government in Stormont back up and running.

It comes after travellers set up camp on Windsor Park’s Long Walk, which is popular with runners and ramblers, back in 2021.

Prince Andrew was forced to drive past the large group while visiting the Queen.

The group parked up to 30 caravans and motorhomes outside the famous castle where the Queen was residing.

The camp site was just yards from Frogmore Cottage - the former home of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the current home of Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank.

Their large caravans were parked close to official signs which said that all vehicles are “prohibited” – even cycling is banned.

The trespassers were eventually moved on.
