Tributes pour in for ‘lovely and kind’ hillwalker after bodies found in search for missing man and dog

TRIBUTES have been paid to a "lovely and kind" hillwalker after a body was found in the search for a missing man.

Kyle Sambrook, 33, vanished while on a wild camping and hiking trip with his dog in Glencoe on Saturday, February 18.

He was due to return to West Yorkshire on Tuesday, February 21, however, he failed to show up.

We told how cops today discovered the bodies of a man and dog in the search for the missing hillwalker.

Tributes have flooded in on social media for Kyle following the tragic find.

One person wrote: "I was really hoping for a different outcome. RIP two beautiful souls, together forever."

Another commented: "Rest in peace Kyle. Thank you for being amazingly you.

"Sending thoughts and love to you and your family. You'll forever be the best hiker ever known."

A third added: "RIP Kyle and Bane, I will miss our chats and your amazing gardening, glad you were in your favourite place with your favourite little guy."

A fourth put: "Rest easy Kyle and Bane.

"Scotland was your passion, my thoughts with your family.

"Thanks to all the search teams involved."

A fifth added: "My thoughts are with all Kyle's family and friends right now.

"He really was one of the nicest lads you could ever meet and his passing will affect many.

"RIP Kyle and Bane, you will be missed dearly."

Another said: "Rest in Peace Kyle and little Bane, thank you for always being kind, lovely and helpful to me and my family. My thoughts are with yours."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2.15pm on Saturday, 25 February, 2023, the bodies of a man and a dog were recovered by Mountain Rescue Teams and HM Coastguard in the Glencoe Area.

"Formal identification has yet to take place, however, the family of missing man Kyle Sambrook have been informed.

"They wish to thank all involved in the search and have requested their privacy be respected.

"Our thoughts are with Kyle’s family as we support them at this difficult time."
