What will Hillary Clinton do now after conceding the US election to Donald Trump?
DONALD Trump's election win is the greatest political upset in living memory - and it looks to have destroyed Hillary Clinton's political ambitions.
The under-fire democrat was still reeling from the much-publicised FBI probe into her use of a private email server before the disastrous result.
Now she has been left red-faced after losing a Presidential Election race she led virtually from day one.
At the start of the week, some pollsters said she had a 90 per cent chance of becoming the 45th US President.
But somehow she managed to snatch defeat from victory on a night which looks to have put the nail in her political coffin.
Clinton thought she had victory in her sights but voters had a different idea and rejected her in favour of an erratic tycoon whose mean-spirited campaign attracted unprecedented criticism.
So is her political career dead in the water?
More than likely yes. Commentators say this year's Presidential election was 'gift wrapped' for the democrat.
Her opponent was seen by many to be virtually unelectable and they claimed the 'two horse' race was hers to lose.
Well that she did.
Insiders say she's now simply too old, and too controversial, to mount another Presidential campaign.
And it is extremely unlikely that there would be much, if any, enthusiasm for Clinton who would, by 2020, be approaching 72 years of age.
Does this mean she will fade from public life?
That's unlikely. She'd still be an "elder statesman" in the Democratic Party, meaning that her thoughts will continue to be valued by the media, and her - and Bill's - backing will still be prized by the next generation of Democratic leadership.
Plus, there is also the Clinton Foundation, which ensures that the Clintons as a whole will remain active in the public sphere.
Hillary and her husband are also high profile public speakers and have made a fortune addressing businesses and governments across the world.
Since 2001 the Clintons have raked in a massive $153 million from speaking fees.
They gave 729 speeches from February 2001 until mid 2015, earning an average of $210,795 for each address.
Hillary Clinton’s net worth – the value of everything you own minus the debts – is around $31.3 million based on her Public Financial Disclosure reports.
Is there a chance the FBI prove may come back to bite her?
If Donald Trump gets his way yes. He has always said when he gets into power he would make sure the case is looked into again.
Only last week, he called on the rank and file of the FBI to do the right thing and continue their probe into his political rival.
The Fed's director James Comey recommended against prosecuting Hillary Clinton over her use of a private email server.
The latest review of the emails, found while investigating former Congressman Anthony Weiner, estranged husband of a top Clinton aide, contained mostly duplicates, and nothing to change the outcome of the original investigation.
However, House Oversight and Government Reform Committee chairman Jason Chaffetz said. “I believe in the integrity of the FBI. I happen to differ on what the conclusion should actually be,”
Despite the FBI’s analysis, the Republican congressman said more congressional hearings could be on the horizon.
“Regardless of the results of the election, of course we are going to continue to probe this,” Chaffetz said.
