Michael Buble’s son Noah has ‘liver cancer and already started chemo’

MICHAEL Buble's three-year-old son is suffering from liver cancer and has already started chemotherapy, according to reports.

Noah was reportedly diagnosed on November 1 after medics carried out a liver biopsy,  following an examination at a clinic in Buenos Aires.

He is also said to have started chemotherapy which is going to last four months, Argentinian magazine said.

Luisana’s elder sister Daniela last night told the mag: “Cancer is a horrible illness but we have faith in Noah being able to overcome this.

“We know he will. The time to start a long and very difficult treatment has come but it’s got to be done.

“They say children are normally strong to put up with chemotherapy and my nephew is a warrior.”

It comes after devastated parents Michael and Luisana confirmed Noah's diagnosis just days ago.

They said in a statement at the time: "We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah who is currently undergoing treatment in the US.

“We have always been very vocal about the importance of family and the love we have for our children.

“Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well.

“At this difficult time, we ask only for your prayers and respect for our privacy.

“We have a long journey in front of us and hope that with the support of family, friends and fans around the world, we will win this battle, God willing.”

Detailing the events leading up to Noah’s cancer diagnosis, Gente claimed Luisana took Noah to be checked out after he ran a high fever.

Doctors are said to have narrowed it down to two possibilities, a throat infection or mononucleosis, ruling out mumps.

They eventually tested the toddler, even doing an abdominal ultrasound, and after a throat swab, they confirmed he had a throat infection.

However, the ultrasound allegedly detected a liver problem - with doctors telling Luisana: "It’s probably benign but we have to continue with the tests."

The mag claims Michael then asked his wife to fly back to LA to join him and get a second opinion, and Luisana’s sister told Gente: “It was there they discovered something wasn’t right."

The magazine claimed they were told that Noah would need four months of chemo and the possibility of surgery afterwards to remove the tumour - but his chances of beating it were 90 per cent.

The family were dealt the tragic blow just a year after little Noah suffered severe burns by pouring boiling water on himself while climbing on the kitchen counter.

Michael, who was in the US at the time, flew home to Argentina to be with his family.

The Cry Me A River singer's wife Luisana "thanked God" the little boy's scars healed soon after the accident.

She said at the time: "For a long time he has to use elastic bands pressed tight so he's not left with scars."

Daniela added: “The love people are showing is helping us to see things with optimism and we have a lot of faith.”

Michael, who has another son Elias, nine months, with Luisana, has cancelled a BBC Music Awards performance next month. He is also due to host the Brit Awards in February.
