Ex-soldier who bit two cops laughs outside court after using claims he had undiagnosed PTSD to avoid jail
A DRUNK ex-squaddie who attacked two police officers laughed after using claims he had undiagnosed PTSD to go free.
Craig Livesey, 42, bit one of the female officers on the hand and the other on the leg as they and a male colleague held him for abusing passers-by outside a pub.
But Livesey claimed he was merely acting on fighting instinct instilled into him during army training.
He blamed his behaviour on being traumatised by his experiences of combat in Afghanistan.
He faced up to 12 months jail after he admitted assault but got off with a ten-week suspended term.
His lawyer claimed his military background meant any physical confrontation would “actively engage his brain in a way that is different to others”.

She said he had experiences of PTSD but has had no official diagnosis as it would need “extended time with mental health professionals”.
But Livesey, of Droylsden, Gtr Manchester, was seen laughing hysterically outside Stockport magistrates’ court after the hearing.
