Amazon job ads suggest company is about to launch a service to do your housework for you
RETAIL giant Amazon has fuelled rumours it plans to launch its own housekeeping service after advertising for “Home Assistants” online.
A job listing posted by the firm reveals it is on the lookout for two “Amazon Assistants”.
The lucky employees will be “experts” tasked with “helping Amazon customers keep up their homes”.
Applicants should expect to “work with customers each day with tidying up around the home, laundry, and helping put groceries and essentials like toilet paper and paper towels away.”
The advert, found by the , tells prospective employees they will also be responsible for ensuring “customers return to an errand-free home.”
It tells applicants: “If you love making a house feel like a home then this role is for you.”
If hired, employees will be expected to travel to customers’ homes to provide “time-saving assistance, [and] identify opportunities to delight customers, [while] maintaining a positive and professional demeanour.”

They will also be expected to “help provide high-quality cleanings and meet any special requests”.
Earlier this month, Amazon revealed it will be hiring over 120,000 seasonal workers for the holiday season in the US this year – 20% more than hired in 2015 – confirming the retail giant is moving from strength to strength.
