Donald Trump’s son Eric says his dad will accept election result if he loses – but ONLY if he thinks it was ‘legit and fair’
DONALD Trump’s son has said his father will only accept the result of the election in the event of a loss if he feels it was “legit and fair”.
In an interview on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Eric Trump said all the family wants “is a fair fight, not just for this election but for all elections, so that everybody has a chance to actually have their voice be heard and not have it manipulated.”
He told presenter Willie Geist that Trump would accept losing: “If he loses, and it’s legit and fair, and there’s not obvious stuff out there?
“Without question, yes.”
US presidential hopeful Donald Trump has repeatedly spoken of a “rigged election”, despite a lack of evidence of fraud.
He has previously claimed a lot of the nation’s polls are “phoney”, and insisted the media is “dishonest”.
Eric Trump’s comments come after his father said he would keep everyone guessing whether he would concede to Democratic Party candidate Hillary Clinton if he were to lose.
Optimistic about Election Day, Eric Trump also told the show, "We've seen states where a few thousand votes can make a difference."
The most recent poll puts Clinton ahead with a five point lead, at 48% to Trump’s 43%.
